John Park, center right, a sophomore at Myers Park High, won an Emmy for Technical Achievement at the Suncoast Emmys in Hollywood, Fla. Suncoast is a regional chapter within the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. John was part of a crew that set up and used explosives in July 2012 to sink the 165-foot USS Mohawk.

App State alumnus produces news to keep Kentuckians informed

For Appalachian State University alumnus John Park ’20, each day starts with one simple question: What’s happening in the world today? As a news producer at Spectrum News 1 in Louisville, Kentucky, he uses the skills he learned at App State to turn the answers to that question into news programs.
